About

A relief vet who
shows up prepared.

Clinic life is unpredictable. Staff call out, cases run long, and the schedule never quite holds. I built Rodgers Veterinary Care around one idea: when you need coverage, it should be seamless — not stressful.

I integrate with your workflow, communicate clearly with your team, and bring the breadth of experience to handle whatever walks through the door — from routine wellness to urgent cases to exotics.

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Small animals, mixed practice & exotics
  • Available for last-minute & planned coverage
  • Multi-state licensed: CO, UT, IL, FL, TX
  • Collaborative — works with your staff, not around them

What I Offer

Team-First Relief

I don't just show up and see cases in isolation. I work alongside your technicians and CSRs, reducing team stress and leaving the clinic in a better place than I found it.

  • Collaborative communication
  • Adapts to your practice management software

What clinics & pet owners say

★★★★★

Dr. Rodgers has to be one of the kindest veterinarians I've ever come across as a pet owner. He took his time and was extremely gentle with both my dog and myself. In a scary time he made everything so much better.

★★★★★

We took our dog in late tonight and were seen by Dr. Jake Rodgers. He was incredibly empathetic, patient, thorough, and understanding. Vets like him make difficult moments easier to navigate, and his kindness made a hugely positive impact on the entire experience.

Dr. Jake Rodgers is the best vet! He really cares and takes the time to listen and explain. My cat got really sick and they were fully booked but they still took my cat in and saved his life. I am so grateful for Dr. Jake. I highly recommend their services.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I'm a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), currently licensed in Colorado, Utah, Illinois, Florida, and Texas, and I carry my own professional liability coverage. Happy to provide documentation for your records before a shift.
What practice management software do you work with?
I adapt to your clinic's system — Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, Pulse, and others. A quick orientation at the start of the shift is usually all I need to get up and running with your records and workflow.
How far in advance should I book?
Both planned and last-minute coverage are welcome. Booking ahead guarantees the date; for same-day or short-notice needs, reach out directly and I'll do everything I can to accommodate. Either way, you'll have a confirmation within 24 hours.
What does a standard shift look like?
A standard shift is 10 hours, but I'm flexible — shorter coverage is available on request. We'll confirm the exact hours and scope when I confirm your booking.
Do you travel outside Colorado?
Yes. I'm licensed in five states and available for travel. Hourly rates are the same wherever I go; a simple, flat $250 overnight accommodation fee per shift applies only when the trip requires an overnight stay. We'll confirm any travel details up front — no surprises.
What types of cases can you handle?
General practice through urgent and emergency care — small animal, mixed practice, and exotics. From routine wellness and surgery support to triage and stabilization, I'm comfortable with whatever walks through the door.
